Ai Wei Wei at Bon Marché

Vilken helg!

What a weekend! Oscar was here and we had a lovely, what feels like a very long weekend filled with fun stuff. Yesterday we went shopping, we walked all the way from Sacre Coeur in the north down to Saint Germain des Pres and Bon Marché. Right now there are paper figures on exhibition there that the artist Ai Wei Wei did for the store. It matches perfectly with the Bon Marché deco. Check it out if you are near!

I also love Le grand épicerie that lies next door, they have just about every food you can think of displayed in a very appealing way.

/And do check out Paris' version of The Conran Shop, just behind Bon Marché if you're close by! Now it's time for me to do some homework for the week. Good evening!

Finals are coming

It's Friday, but in my world right now it is not a matter of tgif, it's more like wtf - is it Friday before finals already?!? 12 h shifts in school have been the method this week and let's not talk about how the weekend will look like (work, a lot of work).

But, on a positive note (cus that's all that matters) you get a pretty good overlook of all the things you've learned this semester. And it's a whole lot in my case. Yesterday I sat All day with my sketching portfolio, and although I'm not gonna be Da Vinci any time soon I'm pretty impressed myself with my learning curve.

We've covered the basics in sketching, such as drawing correct postures, faces, hands and feet, pleats, checks and stripes and so on. We've also done a few portraits "in the style of" different artists.

IMG_9012.JPGThe necesseties right now, vitamine C en masse and a podcast (Josefin&Vanja on repeat, or bloggbusiness). IMG_9013.JPGA portrait in the style of artist Julian Opie.

From Viktor & Rolf's "The shirt collection".

Anyways, off to work om today's subject, draping shirts!

Editorial – Le petit Prince with Cate Blanchett by Tim Walker

This fall I seem to find inspirations in fairytales a lot. It might be because the world is a rough place right now and we all need a little glitter and magic. I was pleasantly blown away when I saw the new editorial W magazine had for it's December/January issue with my favorite fashion photographer Tim Walker. Cate Blanchett is starring in the classical French children's story Le petit prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and the pictures are amazing.

And everything nice

Så här säger Hanna själv: "The body fluid of the models – which includes blood, tears, and vomit – has been replaced with glitter in order to visualise the concept of girls invariably needing to seem attractive regardless of what is actually happening in each scenario."

I love these photos by the young photographer called Hanna Haltman. So clever and funny/tragic at the same time. I wonder what Victoria's secret thinks about that kind of publicity?
