My work: Fédération Dentelle & Broderie entry

Det råder kreativt kaos i min hjärna idag. Jag försöker balansera sjuttioelva projekt i huvudet och på bordet samtidigt och det är inte rätt recept om man vill få saker gjorda. Men ett projekt har jag nästan kunnat bocka av på listan, mitt tävlingsbidrag till franska FFDB (Fédération Francaise des Dentelle & Broderie). Ni kanske kommer ihåg att jag började på det i höstas, det har alltså tagit mig ett bra tag. Runt 35h på helger och kvällar har gått in i broderandet.

Här är moodboarden jag utgick från:

It's a creative chaos in my mind right now. I'm trying to balance a hundred of projects in my head right now (and that's not the way to do it if you want to get shit done, I know). One project I'm almost finished with is the Fédération Dentelle & Broderie entry I've been working on for a long while. You might remember when I started it last fall. Around 35h on weekends and evening has gone in to this project.

Och här är resultatet! Jag skulle vilja ta lite finare bilder, (kanske i en pianobar) och det återstår att få klart foldern som ska skickas in tillsammans med projektet.

And this is the result! I would like to take nicer photos (maybe in a pianobar) and I still need to finish the folder that will be sent in with the piece.

Collection concepts class: Royals of today

Et voilà! Här kommer så äntligen veckans modeskisser. Detta projekt ingår i vår collection concepts class ska in i morgon och briefet (projektbeskrivningen?) lydde som så här: använd den finaste bröllopsspetsen som Frankrike kan uppbåda och applicera den på herrkonfektion. Uh oh... Inte lätt! Men jag spann ihop en story om spets och dess ursprung (ni vet, endast tillåtet för män och kungligheter att bära spets från början) och dagens kungligheter - våra sportstjärnor. Och gjorde ett sportplagg i spets, en baseball/bomberjacka!

And ta da! Here are this week's fashion drawings. This project is for our concept class due tomorrow. The brief was: use the finest bridal lace France can produce and apply it on menswear. Uhhhh... ok. Not easy! But I came up with a story about the origin of lace (you know, only allowed for men and royals to wear it from the beginning) and about the royals of today - our sport stars. And I did a sporty piece with lace - a baseball/bomber jacket!

Inte supernöjd med den här, men det är min första herrskiss. Glittret skulle givetvis dit också, spetsen jag valde har stänk av silverstygn i blommorna 😉 / Not super happy with this sketch, but it's my first menswear. Of course I had to add som glitter too. the lace I chose have patches of silver stitches in it 😉

Haute couture iphone

This morning we had a midterm critique for our Couture Craftmanship class project "Sensations" which will be sent in to the lace contest La fédération de la Dentelle et de la Broderie arranges next year. I had two ideas and one of them was a haute couture iphone cover and I wanted to show it to you.

The theme was "Sensations", which can be interpreted as the five senses and the reactions we have from them. I thought about our everyday life and that a lot of our sensations and impressions come from the smartphone and what happens on the screen.

I wanted to make a packaging for the iphone more beautiful and saw a gap in the couturiers collections. They do fantastic creations in clothes and bags but I haven't found a couturier phone. In this class we've done a lot of experiments with lace and foil, resin and silicone finishes which is very interesting.It may look tiny but many many hours goes into a small embroidery like this. BUT! This couture iphone idea was actually not very much liked by the jury. Sometimes a good idea isn't good enough. So I will continue with my other idea of the music and I will show you the results when the project is due. It's a hard knock life in the fashion industry 😉

Paris College of Art – Couture craftsmanship

I wanted to show you what's going on in my class called Couture Craftmanship here at PCA. It's one of my favorite classes and very experimental.

Today we are bringing in our research file and inspiration for the contest we are doing together with the French federation of Lace and Embroidery. Lace is a very big thing here in France and there are a few Lace couturiers here in Paris that only work with lace. The theme for this years contest is Sensations. There are three categories to chose to compete in; fashion, art and product design. I have two different ideas, one about a lace candle and the second one about lace in music. Here's my mood board.

It's a lovely theme and I will update you on the progression of my products. Check out this site with even more inspiration about textiles!
