Day two in Amsterdam

Day two started with a short walk to a breakfast place called Piqniq where they serve the breakfast in tapas size. And they also had a cat. Success!

Blandad arkitektur i staden, vårt fräsiga nybyggda hotell mötte gammalt, rustikt.

We walked around a lot in the Jordaan area, a favorite of mine. Oscar was also smitten with Amsterdam and impressed with all the nice shops. Even the vintage shops are good!

En herrbutik, enbart fokuserad på shopping. / A vintage shop for finer mens wear.

I had one goal with the shopping for this trip and that was to try and find a pair of vintage Levis 501 but my hopes were not high since I've worked in a jeans shop for about a billion years and know exactly what type of butt I have (not the one that looks good in anyhting). So when I went into a vintsge shop I half heartedly decided to try on a pair of nice 501s in a color I liked and was TOTALLY FLABBERGASTED when they fit like a fucking (sorry) glove!! Bought them on the spot. Am still amazed. (Pics will come later)

After the shopping we walked through beautiful Vondelpark to a beer festival.

A lot of breweries to try out and we got a lil tipsy cus we had to go back into town at 6.30 to eat at a new hip restaurant called Terpentijn. #speeddrinking

Really yummy food and after dinner we just went downstairs to the bar before heading back to the hotel and sleeping like babies. Thank you Amsterdam and Maria! ❤️

First day in Amsterdam

Yesterday did not go as planned. Oscar's flight was cancelled and then rescheduled to 9.30 pm. So he decided to drive here (sjould take 4,5 h) but there was a snowstorm in Belgium, of course. But he finally came here after seven hours! During my wait I hung out at the hotel room and took pictures of nice places in Harlemmerdijk. And had comfort wine with Maria.

I had a lunch at a place called Green house Kitchen where you also could vape apparently.

Finally we got to eat dinner at a yummy place called Geisha.

Good night!

Hello Amsterdam!

Right now I'm sitting on a TGV to Amsterdam! Me and Oscar took this Friday off to jet off to Amsterdam to enjoy the city. We wanted to take the opportunity now, when we live so close. Maria, a very dear friend, lives there and I have visited her three times before and just loved the town! Oscar is not as familiar with this pearl (Large Gothenburg as it is also called), so it's gonna be SUPER COSY. We're gonna stay at a hotel, philander about and eat good food. I found some pictures from last time me and Julia visited Maria in March 2014.

Bye Sweden!

Bye Sweden and loved ones! Today I'm going back to Paris. Hopefully on time and in one piece in this winter weather. See you later La Suède!

Winter wonderland

Spending a couple of last few days in the countryside, it's a cold winter wonderland here. Me and sis took a few pics.

This might be the last I see of snow until next winter. On Sunday I'm heading south, to 10 degrees in Paris. It'll be nice too.

Sunday Afternoon Tea at Dorsia

Hey Sunday! Today is the last day on this very long New Year weekend and it was also Oscar's last day in Sweden before flying back to Luxemburg. So we decided to end this holiday in the best way possible, with afternoon tea at Hotel Dorsia. The hotel is lika a little paradise hidden in the midst of Gothenburg, filled with treasures and a real feast for the eyes. I'm pretty sure even Marie Antoinette would have felt at home here.

Vi testade väldigt uppskattade Brown's hotels Afternoon tea i våras och hade ganska höga förväntningar.

We tried the lovely afternoon tea at Brown's hotel in London last spring and had quite high hopes about Dorsia too.

Hatt & Söner champagne till frukost känns precis perfekt dekadent i denna miljö.

Champagne from Hatt & Söner felt perfectcly decadent in this environment.

We got both the classical cucumber finger sandwiches and some Swedish influenced ones with smoked salmon too. And of course scones!

The dessert was lemon tarts and chocolate mousse, yummy!

Perfect ending to the weekend, I'm ready for the new year now!

Weekend in Luxemburg

As you might know, I hopped on a train to Luxemburg this Friday and landed in L-town around 22.00 (I've been told this is called army time, 10 pm to be sure) and we watched Swedish telly and had crisps and wine for dinner. Insert heart eye emoji. And then on Saturday we took a stroll on around town - it was the first weekend with a Christmas market in the city centre!Weekend in LuxemburgMe and ol Santa laughing at a very funny joke.Weekend in Luxemburg

Weekend in LuxemburgThey had all kinds of goodies, waffles, marsipan, chestnuts.Weekend in Luxemburg

Weekend in LuxemburgWe tried a German sausage. The bread was huuuuge.Weekend in LuxemburgOscar checking out the gingerbread hearts & muffin-ish desserts. Weekend in LuxemburgHe also bought these pretty candle stick holders and H&M home (yes they have one in Luxemburg,  but in Gothenburg we do not 🙁 ). Matched very well with the table and sofa.Weekend in LuxemburgWe're kinda rookies in the kitchen but together we unite and become one whole ass (instead of half assed) cook and occasionally whip up yummy stuff like this saffron & tomato fish soup. Weekend in LuxemburgOr these kinds of breakfast. Bagels with avocado and lemon juice sprinkled on top. SOooooooo goooooood. Try it!

Now I'm rested and ready for a full week, first a lot of projects that need to be worked on in class and then I will have family visiting. Woop woop! Hope you had a great weekend too!

A night at The Hotel Bachaumont Paris

Weekend is here! What better way to celebrate weekend than writing a lil about last weekend? And our luxurious hotel stay at Hotel Bachaumont, a new and hip hotel here in Paris. I say hip because favorite blogger Camille over the rainbow hangs here. Camille is one of those girls that has that je ne sais quoi and partially probably because she is Parisian from the beginning. So, if a real Parisienne vouched for this hotel we were confident it would be a lovely stay.
Hotel Bauchaumont Paris

Hotel Bauchaumont ParisThe interior is art deco updated and the hotel reception is lined with book shelves in mirror glass and marble. A coffee table book nerd like me got a lil crazy when I saw all these b-e-a-utiful books. Come to mama.

Hotel Bauchaumont ParisAnother voucher for the hipness of this hotel was the hotel bar and restaurant, buzzing with trendy people and serving nice cocktails and beers. I do really love hotel bars.

Hotel Bauchaumont ParisWe had a room with windows facing the street which was a little downer. Someone kept whistling for the dog at 7 am on a Sunday morning haha.

Hotel Bauchaumont ParisGrayish greens, marble and brass decor, no faults in the interior here. Even candle holders from Swedish Skultuna, this hotel is certainly dans l'air du temps!

Hotel Bauchaumont ParisThe hotel restaurant has a brunch on Sundays for 30€, we were very much tempted to try it but saved it for some other time. Thanks for a nice stay Hotel Bachaumont Paris!

Breakfast in Paris – Bob’s juicebar

This week's breakfast in Paris post is about a charming little place just a few steps away from Holybelly called Bob's Juicebar. I wanted to show Oscar Holybelly but the line was too long so we ended up at Bob's which was a very happy turn of events.Breakfast in ParisBreakfast in Paris

Behind the counter stood an American man (Bob?) serving delicious shakes and bagels. We tried a blueberry/raspberry/banana shake and the avocado bagel. It was fantastic.

Mmm. It looks simple but it was so good, home made, freshly baked and boiled bagels with avocado and a little lemon juice on top. Yum!!! You have to go there if you stay close to Republique. And make sure you order the avo bagel. It was Bob's favorite too 😉

Breakfast in Paris – Holybelly

Thursday and another breakfast in Paris post is due! Today me and Andrea tried out Holybelly, a café near Republique that Andrea had on the breakfast list. I recognized the name from reading about it a while ago too and we had high hopes. It sure looked cozy from the outside and we were hungry like wolves.

Breakfast in Paris - HolybellyThe café opens at 9.00 and closes around 15, so this is a perfect breakfast spot. We were almost the first ones there and could choose any table. The menu was very mouthwatering. We ordered apple juice to drink and pancakes with fresh fruit, cream and syrup to eat.

Breakfast in Paris - HolybellyThe interior was bright and warm, I liked the floor feeling in the ceiling. And when we left the place it was very buzy as you can see, so I recommend coming early. I am definitely coming back again, have to try the bacon - they looked very yummy too!
