New Year’s Eve outfit

We went shopping when mom and sis were here (that’s what we usually do on our trips: shop, eat pastries (fika) and walk a lot.) And it so happens I found my New year’s eve outfit!

Lately I’ve been obsessing (more than usual) about fluffy pink light hues (probably due to a project on Marie-Antoinette in Concept development) and these pins are a few from my pinterest board. Prepping for new years and party!IMG_8952.JPG

I love this cheesy christma list I found from New York brand Kate Spade, it really is content marketing at it’s best. I’ve checked off no 1 and 11 already 😀

Monday pepp & tips

Monday is here! Last day of November is also here and we’re heading into December and full on Christmas galore. So excited! But this month can be quite exhausting (deadlines at work/school before holidays are growing closer!) so maybe right now we should make sure to back up some energy and find some pick-yous-up when there’s no fuel left? Here are a few tips and a lil Monday pepp!

Sleeping – The 4-7-8 breathing technique

sleep_tightGood sleep is the number 1 condition for a good health. Byrdie.com spelled the beans on a breathing technique that is supposed to make you fall asleep under 1 minute. I have troubles from time to time with falling asleep at night so I’m gonna try this method out for sure!

Get more effective

Most people have a lot to clear off work wise before heading off to holiday heaven. I found this article about effectiveness in meetings taught by Steve Jobs (well actually, more by observing a young Steve Jobs in the 80s). Quite interesting and useful!

Treat yoself!

P1070284

I always think it’s important to take care of oneself (you’re the only one you got!) but I seem to forget it from time to time. Now, when there’s less daylight and colder temps than usual, is really the time to treat yourself and your bodily temple (Yes, a very yogi term). In my case that means frolicking around in Monoprix beauty department, indulging in a product or two. I found a lipbalm from Nuxe – rêve de miel lip with honey to protect my lips from the cold (it’s so much cheaper here in France, woop) and a glittery nail polish from Mavala. Picks me up in an instant!

Relax with a feel good movie – Belle

belle_the_movieDon’t forget to relax! My favorite is watching a feel good movie in bed, with candles lit and maybe a little bit of Swedish candy. I’m a sucker for costume dramas and when I saw one of my fave bloggers Kimberley Gordon from Wildfox recommending this movie I had to see it. I was not disappointed!

Hope you have a nice first week of December!

Christmas in Paris

Since I have family visiting we’ve been out and about quite a lot in the city, checking out the holiday decor at the big shops. I was really looking forward to see the christmas tree at Galeries Lafayette and I was not disappointed. It’s so beautiful so I had to put three pics up.  Sister & Mom visiting Paris

Sister & Mom visiting ParisThe colors were so lovely this year! They usually change from year to year. So fab.

Sister & Mom visiting Paris

Sister & Mom visiting ParisWe also went next door to Printemps, a cute tree there too.

Since it’s first of advent today we’ve had some adventsfika aswell! Mom brought home made saffron buns and soft gingerbread. YumAdventsfikaHaving homemade goodies and the fam here really made me miss christmas in Sweden at my parent’s house. It’s always very decorated and it lies in the country (when there’s snow it’s unbeatable). But I’ll go home a few days before Christmas and until then I’ll have a Parisian chic Christmas decor here (thinking about buying a mini tree… Yep. I’m cray cray for Christmas!).

Wishing you a cozy first of advent!

Breakfast in Paris – Poutch

Our breakfast in Paris quest continues! This week we tried another place at Rue Lucien Sampaix in the 10th (where both Holybelly and Bob’s juicebar also lies) called Poutch! It’s a vegetarian friendly café with a cozy mid century furniture goes hipster vibe and most important: they have a breakfast menu.

Breakfast in Paris - PoutchCozy lamps!

Breakfast in Paris - PoutchI chose the mini granola, freshly baked baguette with jam (still warm!) and a clementine/apple/orange juice. Andrea had the big granola and a hot chocolate.

Breakfast in Paris - PoutchAndrea is ready to dig in! (I always make people wait a little because I’m taking pictures, can be a torture sometimes when you’re hungry haha. Sorry!)

Breakfast in Paris - PoutchLooks cozy and inviting! The staff was very friendly (spoke perfect English) and they have wifi and you’re more than allowed to stay here and work (as opposed to Holybelly, where they specify they don’t want people lingering after eating). Coffice for the the win!

Lux vs Budget: Christmas party dress

I might be a little damaged from working in the fashion industry but the last couple of weeks I’ve been scouring the stores for christmas party dresses. I’m not even sure I have a christmas party to attend (Uni has one, might have to go there) but a christmas party dress is a MUST! I really love dressing up and this fall it’s been way too little of that. Someone invite me to a red carpet event asap, svp. 😉

This year a lot of brands seem to have fallen for the velvet curse. I quite like it, as long as it’s not crushed velvet and/or cheap velvet. Cheap velvet can be quite expensive too so you really have to see it in real life first. Here are some lovely dresses found at Net-a-porter, pretty sure the quality is ok here though.

But what if you can’t afford a 1k€ dress from Chloé? Fear not, we have Zara (of course!). And H&M, and Nelly and god know who’s not jumped on the velvet dress wagon. Some faves of mine:

My absolute favorite one is the first slip dress, the lace makes it even more sensual. I’d style it with a fur coat, dark plum lip, simple gold jewelry and booties for a grunge look and away to the party I go!

grunge_stylingHave you found your Christmas party dress? 🙂

Editorial – Le petit Prince with Cate Blanchett by Tim Walker

This fall I seem to find inspirations in fairytales a lot. It might be because the world is a rough place right now and we all need a little glitter and magic. I was pleasantly blown away when I saw the new editorial W magazine had for it’s December/January issue with my favorite fashion photographer Tim Walker. Cate Blanchett is starring in the classical French children’s story Le petit prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and the pictures are amazing.

Ikea hackers bar cart DIY

A neat and beautifully decorated home does a lot for your feeling of zen (at least for me). I saw this quite lovely bar cart from Ikea hackers (yep, you can spend a lot of time on their website, just a kind warning). Getting a little creative helps you relax too!

Behind the scenes with Fashionary

Last but not least, an inspiring story about the man behind Fashionary, the must have sketch book for designers and buyers in the fashion industry. I’ve written about Fashionary’s all perks before if you want a catch up on this favorite of mine. This is how illustrator Connie Lim uses hers, beautiful!

Weekend in Luxemburg

As you might know, I hopped on a train to Luxemburg this Friday and landed in L-town around 22.00 (I’ve been told this is called army time, 10 pm to be sure) and we watched Swedish telly and had crisps and wine for dinner. Insert heart eye emoji. And then on Saturday we took a stroll on around town – it was the first weekend with a Christmas market in the city centre!Weekend in LuxemburgMe and ol Santa laughing at a very funny joke.Weekend in Luxemburg

Weekend in LuxemburgWe tried a German sausage. The bread was huuuuge.Weekend in LuxemburgOscar checking out the gingerbread hearts & muffin-ish desserts. Weekend in LuxemburgHe also bought these pretty candle stick holders and H&M home (yes they have one in Luxemburg,  but in Gothenburg we do not 🙁 ). Matched very well with the table and sofa.Weekend in LuxemburgWe’re kinda rookies in the kitchen but together we unite and become one whole ass (instead of half assed) cook and occasionally whip up yummy stuff like this saffron & tomato fish soup. Weekend in LuxemburgOr these kinds of breakfast. Bagels with avocado and lemon juice sprinkled on top. SOooooooo goooooood. Try it!

Now I’m rested and ready for a full week, first a lot of projects that need to be worked on in class and then I will have family visiting. Woop woop! Hope you had a great weekend too!

Friyay jump of joy

It’s Friday! After a rather tense week here in Paris I’m taking the weekend off, leaving for Luxemburg tonight after my draping class to spend it with Oscar. We’re gonna practice the art of chilling and do everyday stuff that you seldom get to do in a long distance relationship. Can’t wait to grocery shop and watch tv and drink tea on the sofa haha!

Because tgif I saw it befitting to put up one happy picture from when me and Megan went to Versailles. Try jumping around in leaves without laughing – it’s impossible!Autumn leaf jump
